The objective of the project is to ensure a fast and safe connection between the TEN-T Core Road network, Connectivity Corridor 2 (Moldova) defined as the connection on the north-south axis between Moldova and Muntenia, but also between Ukraine/Moldova and Bulgaria. Investment is part of the Investment Plan for the Development of Transport Infrastructure drawn for the period 2020-2030, approved by GD no. 1312/30.12.2021 regarding the amendment of Government Decision no. 666/2016 for the approval of the strategic document Romania General Transport Master Plan.
